He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Armstrong and Dortha Armstrong (Hollen); and his brother Robert Eugene Armstrong. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Marge" C. Armstrong (Singleton); his children, James Armstrong Jr. (Debi) of White Oak, Robert Armstrong (Carol) of Orlando and Cheryl Merlin (Jeff) of North Huntingdon; and his grandchildren, Christian Armstrong (Lauren), Robby Armstrong, Brandi Hutchinson, Nathan Armstrong (Nikki), Kimberly Beasley (Matthew), Rachel Stephanovic (Nick), Justin Merlin, Niki Wenk (Zach), Jordan Armstrong (Maria), Jenna Olinger (Rick) and Jake Merlin. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
