He was predeceased by: his parents, Christopher Alex and Katurah Wineman McLaughlin; his wife Elsie I. Curtis McLaughlin; and his siblings, Louella Bookamer, Sara Campbell, Clark and David McLaughlin.
He is survived by: his children, Robert R. McLaughlin, Jr. and Brandie M. Means (Rick) of Portersville; his stepchildren, Samuel J. Duncan Jr. (Lisa) of Ellwood City, Wayne A. Duncan (Beth) of Ellwood City, Mark Duncan (Laurie) and Janet L. Zikeli (Ken "Zeke") of Ellport; and his sister Rachel Hoover of North Carolina. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
