He is survived by: his wife Doreen Bassett (McCully); his children, Laurel Ann Aiyana (Dan Pauley), John Charles Bassett (Lori), William Kurt Bassett (Jamie), Brian Lee Bassett, Richard William Scherb (Cindy), David Robert Scherb (Lynn) and Peter Matthew Scherb; and his pet Toby.
