He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Troxell and Ruth Troxell (Frantz); his grandson Adam Hughes; and his siblings, Willard "Billy", Richard, Donald, Ronald Troxell and Donna Hartongue.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Troxell (Miller); his children, Shirl (Henry Taschler) of Lehighton, Pamela (David Imler, Sr.) of Kunkletown and John C. Troxell, Jr. of Northampton; his grandchildren, Stephen Tomsic, Jr., Joshua Tomsic, Garrick Tomsic, David Imler, Jr., Mark Imler, Amie Troxell, Andrew Troxell, Austin Troxell, Adin Troxell, Adrien Troxell, Brittany Karper, Jamie Tashcler and Stephenie Ahner; his great grandchildren, Gabriella, Annabelle, Hayden, Clarissa, Isabelle, Addilynn, Noah, Toby and Damien; and his siblings, Kenneth Troxell of Slatington and Kathy (Willard Burns) of Nesquehoning.
