She was predeceased by : her parents, William Bird and Ruth Bird (Swimelar); her husband Charles K. "Smitty" Smith Jr.; her son-in-law Walter Quarles II; her brother James; her sister-in-law Nancy Bird; her sister Betty; and her brother-in-law Bill Brungard.

She is survived by : her children, David (Jane Smith), Jim (Tracy Smith) and Jill Quarles of Northumberland; and her grandchildren, Bryan (Julie Smith), Erik (Ashley Smith), Nikki Supsic (Taylor Smith), Toniell (Mike Ericksen), Blair (Nick Coleman) and Kelsey (Sam Kline). She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren.
