She was predeceased by: her stepfather Alex Smicherko, Jr.; her parents-in-law, Ed and Jean Kania; her niece Tami Kania; her brother-in-law Edward "Buddy" Kania; and her aunts and uncles, Sarah (Charles Maira), Jean, Dan LaSorsa and Bill (Marie Azzeroni).
She is survived by: her close friends, Grace, Maryann, Stephanie, Laura, Gabriella, Millie, Angela and Carol; her son Eric Kania; her grandchildren, Levi Kania (Katelyn Weller), Robert Kania and Jenna Kania; her sister Maryann Shumbres (Stephen); her cousins, Charlie Maira (Maria) and Mary Lou Azzeroni (Paul); and her brother-in-law Mark Kania (Marguerite).
