He was predeceased by: his wife Theresa Krenitsky Gatto; his parents, Anthony Gatto and Anthlena Pecuch Gatto; his daughter-in-law Penny Gatto; his siblings, Ross Gatto and Angela Murdock; and his brother-in-law Joseph Russick.
He is survived by: his son Teddy B. Gatto (Paula Weaver) of New Albany, PA; and his siblings, Olga Russick of Old Forge, Nicholas Gatto (Catherine) of Duryea and Tony Gatto (Mary Kay) of Old Forge. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services (522 Fallon St, Old Forge, PA 18518). A committal service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM at the Old Forge Cemetery (200-232 Smull St, Old Forge, PA 18518).
