He was predeceased by: his wife Veronica D. Weiss (Hillbish); his parents, Henry S. Weiss and Mildred G. Shonely (Levengood); his stepparents, Dolores Weiss and David Schonely; and his sister Debby Schonely.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda A. Cass (David) and Jennifer E. Crawford (Robert); his grandchildren, Andrew Cass (Lauren Barunas), Katrina Lautenberger (Kolya) and Alicia Matcho (David); his great grandchildren, Aydan Barunas, Harper Cass and Jameson Cass; and his siblings, Linda Weiss, Diane Snyder (Charles), Denise Landis (Joseph) and David "Butch" Schonely, Jr. (Janet). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
