He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude C. Oravec (Phillips); his parents, Frank P. and Mary S. Oravec (Gellak); his siblings, Justine Cherney (Daniel M.), Grace Oravec, Ambrose Oravec (Helen), Frank Oravec (Betty), Joseph Oravec (Violet) and Andrew Oravec (Sally); and his nephew Norman Oravec.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Daniel T. Cherney (Rosanne), Christine Toth (John), Bruce Oravec (Pam), Susan Gannon (Chuck), Michael Oravec (Giselle), Helen Marie Goff (Ernie), Betty Ann Oravec, Janet Oravec, Cathy Oravec, Ann Marie Johnson (Ron) and Andrea Oravec (late Norman Oravec); and his caregivers, Donna Borick, Andrea Rotell, Lois, Carol, Kathy and Judy. He is also survived by great grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jake's memory to Saint Cyril and Methodius Basilica, Danville, PA; Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Scranton, PA; and St. Joseph's Center, Dunmore, PA.
