He is survived by: his stepchildren, Susan M. Smeltzer (John) of Gibsonia and Earl F. Hertzog III (Kristin) of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Kate (Jon), Megan (Ian), John and Evelyn; his sister Marcia L. Aber of Palmer Township; his nieces, Stephanie Anderson (James) and Renee Keeler (Michael); his great-niece Sarina (Austin); his great-nephew Joshua; Owen.
