He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Rooney and Mary Rooney (Mulick); and his wife Kathleen Rooney (Bohn). He is survived by: his children, Eugene M. Rooney (Evelyn) and Mary Rinfret of Palmerton; his grandchildren, Matthew Rinfret, Casey Burger, Kathleen Coleman, Isabella Rooney and Aidan Rooney; and his great grandchildren, Fynn, Nora, Benjamin and Áine.
A graveside service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Gethsemane Cemetery.
