He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Bernhardt and Margaret Bernhardt (Glisson); and his siblings, William R. Bernhardt, James D. Bernhardt and Margaret Demarest.
He is survived by: his wife Helen E. Bernhardt (Hennessey); his children, Thomas G. Bernhardt (Nicole Catavolos) of Somerville, MA, Katherine A. Bernhardt (Joey Parmer) of Elizabethtown, PA and Stephen M. Bernhardt (Amy) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Hope Webb, Maggie Webb and Winter Bernhardt; and his sister Mary Trauth of Waynesburg, PA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
