He was predeceased by: his wife Jane Smyers Herr; his parents, Jacob S. Herr and Helen Coates Herr; and his son-in-law David Howett (late Anne). He is survived by: his daughter Anne Herr (Carl Engle); his close friends, Susan Herr of Farrell, PA and Ellen Walters (Dennis) of Long Island, NY; his grandsons, Winston and Emmett Walters; and his brother Paul Herr of Willow Street, PA..
