He was predeceased by: his wife Philomena Matts (Ruggieri); his son Gary Matts; and his brother William. He is survived by: his children, Michael Matts, Debora "Debbie" Damico (late Dino), Janine Vella (John) and Linda LaMarca (Joseph); his grandchildren, Dominic, Nicole, Michael, Francesca and Giovanni; and his siblings, John, Thomas, Edward, Joseph, Nancy, Pauline, Anna Marie, Dolly and Bella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
