He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Cheryl D. Cochran (Casilli); his children, Kellee Squires (Thomas), Michelle Bergamasco, Jennifer Tavella (Joseph) and James Cochran (Tonya); his grandchildren, Jamie Walak, Jennifer Squires, Robert J. Bergamasco (Shannon), Chelsea Markovic (Nicholas), Vincenzo J. Tavella, Giavonna Tavella, Marabella Tavella, James David "J. D." Cochran, Chloe Cochran, Dylan Cochran and Cassidy Cochran; his great grandchildren, Haylee, Damien, Madilyn, Amelia and Camella; and his siblings, Irene Swackhammer, Diane Schroeder (Benjamin), Debra Swackhammer, Elvin Cochran and Rosemary Staley. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
