He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Benninger and Mary Fritz Benninger; his daughter Sherry Benninger; and his brother Winfred "Bunny" Benninger II. He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Lisa O'Dell of St. Marys, Heather Martin, Renata Haberberger (Mike) of St. Marys, Jesse Steffan (Niela) of Philadelphia, James Benninger II (Amanda) of Pittsburgh and Nathan Benninger (Heather) of Atlanta; his stepsons, Daniel J. Serge of St. Marys and Duane A. Serge; and his sister Irene Manfroni (Mike) of Toby. He is also survived by grandchildren and by numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home (151 N Michael St, St Marys, PA 15857). A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society.
