He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bender and Maureen Bender (Smith); his sister Helen Bender Martinez; Edwin Wright. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Kulik-Bender; his children, Sara Bender (Andi Krupke), John Bender and Tess Bender; his brother Edward Bender; his granddaughter Matilda Krupke; and his siblings-in-law, Joan and Tom Heesen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
