He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ewing and Dorothy Ewing (Landes); and his daughter Nicole Ewing. He is survived by: his wife Patricia (McDonnell); his son Stephen Ewing (Julie Wood); his sister Marilyn Fergusson; and his grandsons, Vicente "VJ" Gonzalez and Logan Tehansky. He is also survived by grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
