He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Hendler and Winifred Siff Hendler. He is survived by: his wife Lisa; his children, Jonathan, Elliot, Clara and Willa; and his grandchildren, Sophia, Carl, Jackson, Nora and Penelope. He is also survived by his family and friends.

“We were kids with the Hendlers in Baltimore, My parents were doctors and my dad was at Johns Hopkins where I was born. Our families were best friends forever. The Hendlers were completely fabulous. I had horrible handwriting and watched Bruce freehandedly draw a complete cartoon, Unbelievable. This was back in the school days. I could go on,,,,, What a once in a lifetime young man...”
