She is survived by: her husband Blane Barton; her children, Blane (Katie), Casey (Dan), Shawn (Gabrielle), Paige (Travis) and Tyler; her grandchildren, Hayden, Jaelynn, Charleigh, Madison, Kayleigh, Emersyn, Noah, Brady, Everlee, Peyton, Sophia, Parker and Mason; and her brother William Carson.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Mitochondrial Medicine Program, in loving memory of Carol and in honor of her beloved grandson, Hayden.
