He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Hoffman and Berthe Hoffman; and his sisters, Rose Averbach and Ida Firestone. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Jones (Wall); his children, Gizelle Strohkendl (Fritz) of Santa Monica, CA, Andre Hoffman (Betty) of Hong Kong and Michael Hoffman of Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Isabel, Sasha, Katie and Strummer; his sister Eugenie Sharp; and his nephew Craig Firestone.
