With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Chester Herbert Jr. (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Chester left this world on December 7, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Lauren David, James Herbert (Barbara), Peter Herbert (Michele), Edward Herbert (Amy) and Susan Kennedy (Jeffrey); his grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Jordan), Jennifer, Peter, Harley, Robert, Kayla, Shawn, Matthew, Melissa, Kevin, Kyle, Jaden, Kendall, Addison, Caleb and Lillyanna; his sisters, Marian Sokol (Tom) and Alice Nofziger (Wade); and his in-laws, Joan and Bill Meehan. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Katherine of Siena Church (9700 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Resurrection Cemetery (5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020).
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Katherine of Siena Parish School, 9738 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114 in Chester's memory would be appreciated.
