James leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. James’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew James will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kay; and his children, Michael (Dolores), MaryKay Schaefer (Daniel), JulieAnne Rutkowski, Jim (Michelle), Bob and David. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, Great Grandpop to 21 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the Burns Funeral Home (9708 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Church (3252 Chesterfield Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19114).
