He was loved and cherished by many people including : his daughter Ava Rose; his parents, Josefina Perez Gonzalez and Joseph Albert Melso; and his siblings, Joseph Melso, Dorene Rivas, Donna Ramirez, Joseph McColgan and Jose Aponte. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Viewing was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McCafferty Funeral & Cremation Inc. (6711 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19135). A prayer was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
