With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Samuel Perry Gunter (Philipsburg, Pennsylvania), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Samuel left this world on December 8, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Gunter and Mildred Gunter (Copelin) of Philipsburg; his siblings, Janice Summerson and Ray Gunter; his parents-in-law, Rev. Lewis and Beth Mericle; his stepmother Shirley Mericle; and his grandson Justin Foreman.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Lewis (Bob) of Clearfield and Timothy Gunter (Jody) of Philipsburg; his grandchildren, Brooke Foreman, Benjamin Gunter and Brandon Gunter; his brother Barry Gunter; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Jenkins (Mericle) and James Mericle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the GFree Church (305 Keystone Hill Rd, Philipsburg, PA 16866).
