William Louis Thornton Obituary

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Harold Thornton, Jr., Gwendolyn Grooms (Thornton) and Eric Thornton; and his parents, Harold Thornton and Arcola Thornton (Williams).

He is survived by: his wife Clara Thornton (Ford-Bey); his daughters, Aamina Thornton, Amara Thornton Brown, Shira Thornton, Yasmin Broady (James), Aisha Garrett (Stephan), Kimbra Eagle (Randy) and Edie Szcypiorski (Ted); his siblings, Marietta Harris (Sam) of Pottstown, PA, André Thornton (Gail) of Chagrin Falls, OH, Rev. Gregory Thornton (Sandra) and Theresa Thornton of Phoenixville, PA.; and his aunt Priscilla Barrington of Richland, GA. He is also survived by father to his daughters, and grandfather to his grandchildren.

Viewing was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church (412 Fairview St, Phoenixville, PA 19460). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at the Morris Cemetery (428 Nutt Rd, Phoenixville, PA 19460).

Bill would be later inducted into the Phoenixville Area High School Wall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to the Phoenixville community at large.
