He was predeceased by: his child Peter Gusew. He is survived by: his spouse Barbara Ann Gusew (Kowacs); his children, Sandra L. Hacke (James) and Alfred "Jack"; his grandchildren, Leah Schram (Brian), Emily, Alison and Jonathan Gusew; and his great grandchildren, Carter Schram and Lydia Schram. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Al was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
