He was predeceased by: his siblings, William Carney, Oliver Carney, Laverne Sullivan, Dewayne Sullivan, Betty Sullivan Michelakis and Vivian Carney Riggle; and his parents, Sarah Carney (Watt) and William Carney.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl L. Carney (VanDervort); his children, Keith, Joshua Carney and Heather Wingenbach (Doug); his grandchildren, Max, Asher, Odin and Lois Anne; his brother James Robert Carney; and his close friend Fred Mitcheson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
