It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Clare Mathie of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 27, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her brother James Lauble (Erma Lauble). She is survived by: her husband Tom; her children, John Mathie, Colleen Salladay, Brian Mathie (Jennifer Berry) and Thomas Mathie (Laurie Wincko); her sister Suzanne O'Neill; and her grandchildren, Susan, Liz Mathie, Brad, Jimmy, Nick Salladay, Ben, Emma Mathie and Evelyn Mathie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the William Slater II Funeral Service (1650 Greentree Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15220). A Mass will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Margaret of Scotland Church (310 Mansfield Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15220).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Betty Clare to the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID: 25-0325750) or your preferred charity.
