He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Wright-Jones; his children, Charles Nelson, Curtis Nelson (Addie), Chauncey Alexander, Shakina Wright and Darcia Reed; his sister Ruby Loving; his grandchildren, Shaquaya Nelson, Aubraya Nelson, Alyssa Nelson, Curtis Nelson Jr., Nylah Wright-Dillard, Noble Wright-Dillard and Charley Nelson; his great grandchildren, Danielle Sappington and Daniel Sappington III; and his friend Jesus. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
