He was predeceased by: his child Glenn Schafer; and his sister Sheila Dixon. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Schafer; his children, Kim Vasbinder, Jim Boyd (Megan) and Chaz Schafer (Kasey); and his siblings, Diane Buckley, Walter, Robert, James Schafer, Mark and Raymond Schafer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
