He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Bednar and Mavis Bednar. He is survived by: his wife Toni Bednar; his sons, Chester A. Bednar and Brett D. Bednar; his stepdaughter Dawn Gradkowski Reinhart; his stepgrandchildren, Donald J. and Alexandra Gray Reinhart; and his brothers, James Bednar (Diane) and Fred Bednar (Susan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
