It is with sadness that the passing of Clete W. Smith of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is shared. Clete, born on March 20, 1945, passed away on August 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Medonis Smith; his parents, Clete M. Smith and Doris Martin Smith; his brother Douglas C. Smith; I. W. Martin (Bill).
He is survived by: his cousins, Diane Snyder (Harry) of North Strabane and Bill Martin (Lorie) of Mt. Lebanon; his sister-in-law Ann Castor of Mt. Lebanon; his stepchildren, Meg Medonis of California, Rob Medonis (Jurga) and Mark Medonis (Jen Ryan) of Florida; and his grandchildren, Allison, Emily Toomey of California and Elsa Kristina Medonis of Pittsburgh.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care (3287 Washington Rd, McMurray, PA 15317).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clete to the West Virginia University Foundation, One Waterfront Place – 7th Floor, PO Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507-1650.
