He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Cole and Cleadus Hayes-Cole; his wife Estella Cole; and his brother Lonnie Pitts. He is survived by: his children, Darnell Coles Jr., Evelyn Stanton Coles, Darrin Coles, Shawn Coles (Beatrice Coles) and Shawna Harris; his former wife Eloise Cole; his niece Eunice McGill; and his close friend Jimmie Peterson. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
