He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolores LaPorte and Carmen LaPorte. He is survived by: his children, Megan J. LaPorte, Kelly Knickelbein, Kyle Zilles, Micaiah Rucker and Desmond Rucker; his grandchildren, Graham and Genevieve Knickelbein; and his sister Joan LaPorte (Gary Shuman).
