He was predeceased by: his father Raymond Zapf; and his brother Bill Zapf. He is survived by: his wife Nancy L. Zapf (Martin); his children, Nick, Neil, Zachary and Lindsy Zapf; his mother Betty Zapf; and his sister Karen Zapf. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
