She was predeceased by: her husband Chuck Kinder; her parents, Frank Blackmer and Maxine Blackmer; her brother Joe Blackmer; her brothers-in-law, David Kinder and John Kemper; her nephew Ian Bateen; and her pets, Lu-Lu, Jones and Miss Tammy.
She is survived by: her sister Andrea Bateen (Robert); her sisters-in-law, Rosaura Kinder and Beth Kemper; her nieces and nephews, Amber Bateen, Alexis Bateen Adiarte (Eric), Morgan Kemper Trent (Michael), Amy Kinder, Laura Blackmer, Tracy Blackmer, Jon-Clay Kemper (Dana), Tobin Bateen (Melissa) and Michael Blackmer; and her pet Colonel Angus. She is also survived by 5 great nephews, 4 great nieces.
In 2020 Diane re-relocated to Pittsburgh in the middle of a global pandemic.
A memorial will be held to honor Diane's life on Friday, April 24, 2026, 6:30-7:30pm, in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. (In lieu of flowers please buy a couple really good books from your favorite independent bookstore.).
