He is survived by: his daughters, Emily Mervis of Pittsburgh and Heather Clark of Houston, Texas; his brother Dr. Robert Mervis (Julie) of Hilton Head; his grandson Om Johnson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his nieces, Kristi Pennington (Aaron) of Rockbridge, Ohio and Stacey Ballenger (Christopher) of Logan, Ohio; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lauren, Samantha Pennington, Lincoln and Jackson Ballenger; and his close friend Deborah Bond.
