As we bid Emma farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Emma is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Smith and Alberta Smith (Blum); and her husbands, Eugene Rosenstein and Leonard Bass. She is survived by: her children, Jerry Bass (Susan), Craig Bass (Susan), Carl Bass Stofko (Brian) and Jamie Bass Rose; and her grandchildren, Jeremy Bass (Carina) and Sarah Bass (Dustin Brown). She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and several nieces.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Temple Sinai Memorial Park (7740 Saltsburg Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15239).
Memorial contributions may be made to Temple David Rabbi's Fund or the National Museum of American Jewish Military History.
