With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frank P. DeShantz Jr. (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 24, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Frank leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Frank may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Ann DeShantz (DeSabato). He is survived by: his children, Frank A. DeShantz (Anna), Kim McLane and Roberta L. Nethen. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and devoted pap pap of 7 great-grandchildren; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walter J. Zalewski Funeral Home (216 44th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Augustine Church (225 37th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201).
