He was predeceased by: his parents, Carle Mitchell and Clara Mitchell (Gaisford); and his siblings, Richard Mitchell, Janet Mitchell, Patricia Ditzenberger, Carolyn Benson, Barb Myers and Sandra Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Mitchell (Harper); his children, Kimberly Marsolan (Douglas) of Austin and Richard Mitchell (Kellie) of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Dr. Erica O'Brien (Brian Lawrence), Sean O'Brien, Jake Giles (Emily), Hannah Giles (Rashard Montgomery) and Hayden Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Liam, Willa Lawrence, Kennedy Giles, Avery Giles-Reed and Tatum Montgomery; and his siblings, Jean Goede, Alice Hines, Beverly Tudor and Barry Mitchell. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes (222 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Bower Hill Community Church (70 Moffett St, Pittsburgh, PA 15243).
