We are sad to announce that on December 21, 2020, at the age of 94, Howard Maier (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Howard Maier to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Maier and Norma Crusan Maier; his wife Muriel Kean Maier; and his siblings, Edie McCormick, Jean McMiller, Margie Roberts, Norma Maier, Oliver and Jack Maier.

He is survived by: his children, Russel J. Maier (Joan) of Pine Twp and Amy Maier of Pine Twp; his grandson Matthew Maier of Pine Twp; and his siblings, Gail Howell (David) of Mars and Arthur Maier (Eileen). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

He was fortunate to never have been affected by Covid.

“Dear Maier family, For many years, I bowled with my father at Mars Lanes on Friday nights in the Wexford Men league. Howard and my father were the same age and troupers for continuing to bowl well into their nineties despite having lost most of their physical abilities. Howard was always smiling and quick witted even when it was clear he was not well, he never complained. I lost my dad earlier this year. Howard too will be missed. Heaven picked up two steady bowlers and gentle souls. K Bell”
