He is survived by: his wife Mary "Betsy" E. Carter; his children, Deborah Haynes, Jennifer Carter-Baker (Matthew) and Jason Carter (Melissa); his grandchildren, Monica Fenrenbach, Isla Baker, Lachlan Baker and Arianna Carter; and his cousins, Joe Nellis and James Worthington.
