He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ellen Godkins (King) and Thomas Regis Godkins; his child Catie; his wife Carol Godkins (Cvetetic); his former wife Donna Godkins (Roberts); his daughter Christin Godkins; his grandson Anthony Moore Jr.; his son-in-law Samuel Nicastri; his daughter Catherine Potter (Godkins); his son-in-law Richard Potter; his son James Lee Godkins, Jr.; his grandson James Lee Godkins III; his daughter-in-law Kerry Godkins; his siblings-in-law, Lois Ronsse (Godkins) and Frank Ronsse (Bud); his niece Heather McDonnell (Steve); his great-nephews, Vincent and Leo; his nephew Scott Godkins; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Addison and Gabrielle; and his brother-in-law Richard Cvetetic (Virginia Mertz).
Jim later accepted a position with Hesser College in New Hampshire then finished his career in the non-profit realm working for The Jason Foundation for Education in Newton, MA and lastly the New England Energy Partnerships in Lexington MA.
