He is survived by: his wife Mary Esther McGregor McFarland; his son John McFarland, Jr. (Christine); his grandchildren, Jake (John III) and Marley; and his siblings, Eileen Bentley (James), Dennis Connelly (Irene) and Linda Schaeffer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
