He was predeceased by: his sister Judy Shirer (Steele); and his son Joseph Steele III. He is survived by: his wife Dolores J Steele; his sister Laura Mae Miller (Steele); and his children, Gary Steele (Debbie) and Penny Steele. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
