She was predeceased by: her husband James Newman; her parents, Wojciech Cyran and Katarzyna Cyran; and her siblings, Helen, Mary, Marty, Frank, Andy, Charlie and Stan.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Jo Newman Darrah (Dennis), Bobbie Newman (Glenn) and Jim Newman.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to one of Jo's favorite charitable organizations, Doctors Without Borders.
