Joy E. Szczypinski Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joy E. Szczypinski of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 9, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Joy departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Joy. Though Joy may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schepner-McDermott Funeral Home, Inc. - Crafton (165 Noble Ave, Crafton, PA 15205). A prayer will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Margaret of Scotland Church (310 Mansfield Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15220).
In lieu of flowers, feel free to enjoy her favorite drink (a rum and Coke) or make a donation to her favorite cause, her last "job" as a volunteer, at the Unity Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 1146 Greentree Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220, in memory of Joy.
