He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Smiley and Anna Smiley. He is survived by: his wife Judy of Queens; his daughters, Alison (Barry Hurewitz) of Washington, DC and Melissa (Larry Jacobson) of Pittsburgh; and his grandchildren, Sophie Hurewitz of Philadelphia, Micah Hurewitz of Durham, NC, Abigail (Abby) and Nora Jacobson of Pittsburgh.
