She is survived by: her nieces, Stacey Shafer (Jamie) and Beth Wantje (Glen); her sister-in-law Joyce Vance; her friend Dee Grubor; and her nieces and nephews, Maryelle, Rex, Mallory, Grace and Morgan.
In 2009, she was the first time recipient of the Mary Ann Scully Excellence in Nursing Award by the American Heart Association.
